Silver for Tom Carta Old Tom Gin, Bronze for Mirto Ricetta Storica
Zeddiani, June 12, 2026 — Silvio Carta has secured two new accolades at the IWSC 2026 — International Wine & Spirit Competition, the international contest founded in 1969 and widely considered among the most authoritative worldwide for the evaluation of wines and spirits.
The award-winning products:
• Tom Carta Old Tom Gin — Silver Spirit Award 2026, 90/100
• Mirto Ricetta Storica — Bronze Spirit Award 2026, 87/100
Tom Carta Old Tom Gin is a craft gin featuring Sardinian botanicals, crafted in the Old Tom style — a historic category with a smooth and slightly sweet profile imparted by Sardinian honey, which has now returned to the spotlight for international bartenders and enthusiasts. The Silver award, along with 90 points, certifies its technical quality and distinct product identity.
Meanwhile, Mirto Ricetta Storica represents the most faithful interpretation of traditional Sardinian mirto, an iconic liqueur of the island produced according to the distillery’s original recipe. The Bronze Award with 87 points rewards the consistency and authenticity of a product that has never taken shortcuts.
These two accolades join the Gold Award previously achieved by Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Riserva 2002 (95/100), bringing the total number of IWSC 2026 awards for the Zeddiani-based distillery to three.
The IWSC jury, composed of international experts including Richard Paterson OBE, Dawn Davies MW, and Ian Burrell, evaluated the products through blind tastings following rigorous technical criteria.
