Sard Orange clinches a gold medal at the Meininger’s International Spirits Award ISW 2024

The Sard Orange orange liqueur has just been awarded the gold medal at the
Meininger’s International Spirits Award ISW 2024, one of the most prestigious
competitions in the liquor and spirits industry. This prestigious recognition highlights
the commitment that Silvio Carta is pursuing in the research and enhancement of
excellence in Sardinian local products. In this case, Sard Orange showcases the
excellence of flavors, scents, and colors of the oranges from Milis, a small village
located just a few kilometers from the sea in the Campidano di Oristano region.

Citrus orchards were introduced by the Camaldolese monks as early as the 12th
century, to the extent that Antoine-Claude Pasquin, known as Valéry (1789-1847), a
writer and librarian from Versailles, baptized the orchard of the friars in Milis as the
Garden of the Hesperides, "S’Ortu de is Paras," during a tour of the island.

Sard Orange, with its intensity, liveliness, and pleasantness, can be enjoyed either
on the rocks or paired with tonic water and champagne. A versatile and refreshing
liqueur, ideal for an elegant aperitif or digestive after a meal.
